Argentina presents agchem data system
The Argentine authorities are to launch an information system for agrochemical registration applicants and pesticide users. The Argentine national animal and plant health inspection service, the Senasa, presented the soon-to-be launched integrated management system for agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and foodstuffs (Sigafa) to the relevant industry associations in September. Sigafa will allow registration applicants to follow a pesticide product’s progress at each stage of the approval process, while guaranteeing data confidentiality. It would also provide a guide of registered products and companies. “The Sigafa will eventually provide external users with up-to-date information on the Senasa’s procedures, and on statistics and management information,” the service says.
