Syngenta combines herbicides for US soybeans

Syngenta has received US approval for a combination herbicide, Flexstar GT (fomesafen + glyphosate), for use on glyphosate-tolerant soybeans. The herbicide contains Syngenta’s adjuvant system, “Isolink II Technology”, to optimise the contact action of fomesafen and the systemic action of glyphosate, the company says. Flexstar GT provides pre- and post-emergence control of a range of broadleaf weeds, including those resistant to glyphosate or acetolactate synthase inhibitors. Syngenta and its forerunners have sold fomesafen for use on soybeans since the 1980s.
