Bayer to debut Balance Flexx in US
Bayer CropScience is to make a limited introduction of its maize herbicide, Balance Flexx (isoxaflutole 240 g/litre + cyprosulfamide safener 240 g/litre), in eight US states this year. The safened version of the established herbicide will be introduced in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Texas. The suspension concentrate formulation is recommended for use at 3-6 fl oz/acre (2.2-4.4 litres/ha) for pre-plant, pre-emergence and early post-emergence use. Balance Flexx controls more than 50 grass and broadleaf weeds, Bayer says. The company is introducing cyprosulfamide in its new thiencarbazone-methyl-based herbicide, Corvus ( Agrow No 555, p 23).
