Argentine agchem market to plummet
The Argentine agrochemical market is to suffer a major fall this year, according to media reports citing the country’s agrochemical association chief. Sales are expected to be 30% and almost $500 million down compared with 2008, Argentine agrochemical industry association, the CASAFE, president Horacio Busanello, reportedly says. The reports say that last year’s market reached $1,750 million, which would be more than 25% higher than in 2007. The 2007 market rose by a half to over $1,300 million ( Agrow No 546, p 18). The anticipated sales for this year are around $1,250 million.
