Bayer launches Belt in Brazil
Bayer CropScience has launched its insecticide, Belt ( Nihon Nohyaku’s flubendiamide 480 g/litre), in Brazil. Belt is a suspension concentrate formulation for use on soybeans, cotton, maize and tomatoes against soybean loopers ( Pseudoplusia includens) and other lepidopteran pests. Flubendiamide comes from a new chemical class, the phthalic acid diamides, which target insect ryanodine receptors ( Agrow No 479, p 21). Its novel mode of action allows its use in resistance management, the company adds.
