USDA resumes pesticide data collection
The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is to resume the collection of pesticide use data on fruit. The programme was suspended in April 2007 due to budgetary constraints. The NASS survey of pesticide use on fruit in 2009 will be published in July 2010. Last year, the NASS indicated that its 2007 study of pesticide use on cotton and apples would be its last agrochemical use survey until 2010 ( Agrow No 544, p 17).
