Dow to acquire more US seed assets
Dow AgroSciences has agreed to acquire assets of the US seed company, Brodbeck Seed (Wabash, Indiana), for an undisclosed sum. Dow will take over sales, marketing, agronomy and development assets, while production and distribution will be run by companies operated by former Brodbeck co-owner Robert Hettmansperger. Brodbeck supplies maize, wheat and soybean germplasm to growers and dealers in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and northern Illinois. Dow has made a series of seed company acquisitions in the US and Europe in recent months ( Agrow No 554, p 1).
