Wynca buys out Jiangshan Chemical

Chinese chemical company Zhejiang Jiangshan Chemical has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of chemical company Wynca Chemical in a shareholder buyout valued at Yuan 52 million ($7.6 million at the current rate). Jiangshan Chemical manufactures chemicals such as dimethyl phospite and dimethyl formamide for use in the synthesis of various agrochemicals, including the insecticides, omethoate and posfolan-methyl, and the herbicide, glyphosate. Glyphosate is Wynca's primary product and the high sale price of the herbicide led to the company's agrochemical sales doubling in 2008 to Yuan 5,120.8 million ($750.7 million – Agrow No 564, p 2).
