DuPont scientist wins US award for insecticides
A DuPont researcher has won an American Chemical Society award for his part in the discovery of the company’s insecticides, Rynaxypyr (chlorantraniliprole) and Cyazypyr (cyantraniliprole). George Lahm receives the Kenneth A Spencer award for outstanding achievement in food and agricultural chemistry. DuPont introduced Rynaxypyr in 2007, with Cyazypyr scheduled for launch in 2010-15 ( Agrow No 527, p 25). The company expects sales of Rynaxypyr to amount to $150 million this year and to reach a peak of $300 million by 2011 ( Agrow No 562, p 7).
