US approvals for Chemtura seed treatments

Chemtura has received US approval for two seed treatments based on Kureha’s triazole fungicide, ipconazole. Rancona 3.8 FS is for use on soybeans, cereals and other crops the control of a range of soil- and seed-borne diseases. It is due to be introduced on soybeans in 2009. Rancona Apex is a microdispersion formulation specifically designed for use on cereals. The low-viscosity formulation is easier to work with than other flowable products, Chemtura says. In 2007, Kureha and Chemtura entered into a global deal on the development and commercialisation of ipconazole-based seed treatments ( Agrow No 512, p 1).
