Brazil new agchem approvals "should be" priority
Brazil’s government discussed prioritising the approval of new active ingredients at a Ministry of Agriculture meeting earlier this year. The Ministry’s chamber of agricultural inputs, the CTIA, presented a motion calling for faster approvals through the process, according to several industry associations. The motion notes that “around 132 low toxicological and environmental risk” products have been launched and are being used by farmers in many developed countries, the Brazilian agrochemical industry association, the Andef, reports. Only 12 such ais are registered and available to Brazilian farmers, it adds.
