EnviroLogix/Ionian cement GMO test deal
The US diagnostics companies, EnviroLogix (Portland, Maine), and Ionian Technologies (San Diego, California), have concluded a licensing and technology transfer deal for testing genetically modified crops and plant pathogens. EnviroLogix has gained exclusive global rights to develop and market tests using Ionian’s proprietary Nicking Enzyme Amplification Reaction technology. It provides the sensitivity of polymerase chain reaction-based tests, but with a significant speed advantage, the companies claim. The firms agreed to collaborate on the technology last year ( Agrow No 537, p 3).
