EU study advises on pesticide exposure
Guidance is required to ensure more consistent assessment of pesticide exposure for workers, operators, bystanders and residents in the EU, concludes a project funded by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Current studies may not match actual exposure times, there are no agreed definitions of the different population groups and their typical clothing, and more scientifically robust databases are needed, the study concludes. The project's conclusions, completed last year, were issued by the EFSA in May. The EFSA stresses that it has not yet come to any decision on the findings.
