China OKs Bayer's WG pesticide facility
Bayer CropScience’s new water- dispersible granule (WG) pesticide production line has passed inspection by the Zhejiang Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau in Hangzhou, China. The WG production line, supplied by the German chemical company, Glatt, is the first of its kind in China, and one of only two such facilities in the world. The facility has a value of Yuan 15 million ($2.2 million). According to inspectors, the WG plant is less polluting to the environment than liquid pesticide production lines, and the pesticides produced are more easily recycled.
