US approval for Cheminova's Declare
Cheminova has received US approval for the pyrethroid insecticide, Declare (gamma-cyhalothrin), for use on a range of crops including maize, cotton, small-grain cereals, fruit and vegetables. The capsule suspension formulation is recommended for the control of aphids, thrips, beetles and other pests. Gamma-cyhalothrin was developed by the Cheminova/Dow AgroSciences joint venture, Pytech Chemicals. The first US approvals were granted in 2004 ( Agrow No 446, p 26). Cheminova agreed to take over the business last year ( Agrow No 540, p 2).
