EFSA workload switches to MRL reviews

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is to embark on a full review programme of maximum residue limits (MRLs) established at EU level for 350 ais in the next couple of years. The programme follows completion of a review of 280 ais between 2006 and 2008 by the EFSA to assist the European Commission in setting some 74,000 MRLs. The reviews are part of the ongoing programme to harmonise MRLs under the EU pesticide MRL Regulation (396/2005).
