Bayer debuts Laudis in Portugal
Bayer CropScience has launched its maize herbicide, Laudis (tembotrione 44 g/l + isoxadifen safener 22 g/l), in Portugal. The registration is the first for tembotrione in the country. Laudis allows post-emergence control against a broad spectrum of grasses and broadleaf weeds, including velvet leaf ( Abutilon theophrasti), black nightshade ( Solanum nigrum), prostate pigweed ( Amaranthus blitoides), lambsquarters ( Chenopodium album), jimsonweed ( Datura stramonium), hairy crabgrass ( Digitaria sanguinalis), and green bristlegrass ( Setaria viridis). The novel mode of action offers weed resistance management, Bayer says. Tembotrione was granted its first approval in Austria in 2007 ( Agrow No 513, p17).
