EID Parry's biopesticide sales up
Indian company EID Parry (Chennai) recorded sales of Rs 310 million ($7.8 million) for its biopesticides division in the year ending March 31st 2008, an increase of 19.2% over the previous year. Earnings before interest and tax more than doubled to Rs 59.1 million ($1.5 million) from last year’s figure of Rs 29.2 million ($730,000). The company consolidated its niche in the biopesticide business with a continued focus on its Neemazal brand of neem-based biopesticides. Its exports registered an increase over the previous year, with America and Europe continuing to be the major markets.
