Bayer gets US and Canada OK for Movento
Bayer CropScience has received approval for its broad-spectrum ketoenol insecticide, spirotremat, in the US and Canada. It will be marketed as Movento. The company expects the insecticide to become a blockbuster with medium-term world wide annual sales of around €200 million ($312 million). It is for use against sucking pests on a wide range of crops, such as cotton, soybeans, citrus fruits, grapevines, potatoes and vegetables. The product is harmless against beneficial insects such as ladybugs and parasitoid wasps. Bayer is positioning it at as part of integrated crop protection programs and as a component of successful resistance management programs.
