Full Canadian approval for Dow's ProFume
The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has proposed full approval for Dow AgroSciences’ fumigant, ProFume (sulfuryl fluoride). The approval would cover the control of stored product pests in empty cereal grain mills, storage facilities and processing plants. The PMRA granted a conditional approval in late 2006 ( Agrow No 511, p 18). Sulfuryl fluoride is considered to be an alternative to methyl bromide, which is being phased out due to its ozone-depleting potential.
