New Australian agchem fee regime delayed
The introduction of new funding arrangements for the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) is to be delayed due to an extended review. Last year, the APVMA proposed a sharp rise in pesticide registration fees and a cut in the annual sales levy ( Agrow No 558, p 18). The arrangements were due to be finalised this month and to take effect on July 1st. A final cost recovery impact statement is now due to be issued in August. New application fees will come into force three months after government approval, with other changes taking effect on July 1st 2010.
