German farmers to lobby MEPs on pesticide cuts
The German farmers' association, the DBV, has urged farmers to participate in an internet lobbying campaign over proposed EU regulatory moves on pesticides. The action is planned to urge Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to realise the importance of the availability of a sufficient number of active ingredients for the sustainable production of food in sufficient quantity and acceptable quality. The number of available ais is expected to be reduced if the proposed revision of the EU agrochemical registration Directive (91/414) takes place ( Agrow passim). The sending of electronic postcards is expected to help farmers urge their MEPs to raise a voice against the proposed revision.
