Syngenta to debut Broadband in Canada
Syngenta is to introduce the post-emergence cereal herbicide, Broadband (pinoxaden 92.7 g/litre + Dow AgroSciences’ florasulam 7.7 g/litre), in Canada this year. It is the first pre-formulated herbicide to control grasses and broadleaf weeds in spring wheat and barley, Syngenta points out. It is recommended for use at 0.65 litre/ha and comes in packs suitable for treating 40 acres (16.2 ha) or 320 acres. Syngenta launched pinoxaden, as Axial, in Canada and the US in 2006 ( Agrow No 489, p 19). It began selling florasulam as a tank-mix partner for Axial in the US last year ( Agrow No 540, p 22).
