Bayer launches two fruit products in Chile

Bayer CropScience has launched its acaricide, Envidor (spirodiclofen), and fungicide, Mystic (pyrimethanil + trifloxystrobin), in Chile for use on pome fruit. Envidor controls each stage of a target mite’s development (from egg to adult) and is safe for non-target insects, including bees. Bayer introduced Envidor in Europe and Asia in 2003 ( Agrow No 432, p 21). Mystic is for use against apple scab ( Venturia inaequalis), powdery mildew ( Podosphaera leucotricha) and other common fruit diseases. The company expects the Chilean fruit industry to benefit from growing exports to eastern Europe, the US and Asia.
