Australian approval for Bayer's Movento
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has recommended the approval of Bayer CropScience’s insecticide, Movento 240 SC (spirotetramat 240 g/litre), for the control of silverleaf whiteflies ( Bemisia argentifolii) on brassica vegetables. Spirotetramat received its first approval in Tunisia in 2007 ( Agrow No 532, p 21). Bayer gained approvals for Movento in the US and Canada last year and plans to market the insecticide in over 70 countries worldwide ( Agrow No 547, p 19). The APVMA’s decision is subject to a 28-day comment period from May 5th.
