Brazil grants glufosinate use extension
Brazil has granted a use extension for Bayer CropScience’s herbicide, glufosinate-ammonium. The Ministry of Health’s national health surveillance agency has extended its use to maize as a herbicide and plant growth regulator. It is already approved on a range of crops, including cotton, soybeans, wheat and grapevines. A 30-day public comment period ends on April 8th. Brazil approved Bayer’s genetically modified glufosinate-tolerant LibertyLink (T25) maize last year ( Agrow No 538, p 23).
