Australia to approve insect attractant
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority has recommended the approval of Ag Biotech’s (Richmond, New South Wales) insect attractant and feeding stimulant, Magnet, for use against Helicoverpa spp on cotton, beans and sweet corn. The Magnet components, eucalyptol, alpha-pinene, anisyl alcohol, butyl salicylate and phenylacetaldehyde are being considered as new active ingredients. An insecticide added to the spray tank kills pests attracted to the Magnet mixture. The APVMA’s decision is subject to a 28-day comment period from November 4th.
