Argentine agchem prices down

Prices of pesticides for use on maize and sunflowers are down in Argentina, the national newspaper, La Nacion, reports. The average price of the herbicide, atrazine, has fallen from a peak of $4.60/litre to $3.60/litre. The herbicide, glyphosate, is down from $7.20/litre to $5.20/litre, following a fall in the price of the active ingredient in China ( Agrow No 553, pp 7-8). La Nacion cites agronomist Enrique Baya Casal, as saying that the maize and sunflower herbicide market is struggling with excess supplies. “Some [products] are being sold at cost price.”
