Agdia kit for sorting Roundup Ready cotton

The US diagnostics company, Agdia (Elkhart, Indiana), has introduced a test kit for differentiating Monsanto’s genetically modified glyphosate-tolerant Roundup Ready Flex cotton from the original Roundup Ready cotton. The lateral flow test strip detects the neomycin phosphotransferase II (nptII) marker gene in Roundup Ready cotton. It is not present in Roundup Ready Flex. The NPTII Immunostrip can be used in the field and gives results in about five minutes, Agdia says.
