China increases pesticide export rebates

The Chinese Ministry of Finance and the State Administration of Taxation have raised or reinstated the export tax rebates for a number of pesticides, effective from June 1st, reports the Chinese national newspaper, the Nanfang Daily. Export rebates for the acaricides, dicofol and chlorfenethol, have been raised to 9%, the rebate for the insecticide, carbofuran, has increased to 13%, and rebates for plant root extracts that contain the insecticide, rotenone, and other plant extracts used in the formulation of pesticides have been raised to 15%. China cancelled export rebates for some 40 pesticide active ingredients, including carbofuran and dicofol, in August last year ( Agrow No 549, p 20).
