Bayer debuts Oberon in Spain
Bayer CropScience has launched its ketoenol-based insecticide /acaricide, Oberon (spiromesifen 240 g/litre) in Spain. It is a suspension concentrate formulation for use on tomatoes, peppers, marrows, beans and ornamentals against white flies ( Bemisia tabaci and Trialeurodes vaporariorum), broad mites ( Polyphagotarsonemus latus), and red spider mites ( Tetranychus spp). Bayer recommends a foliar application. Oberon has a selective action that is safe for bees, Bayer says. Spiromesifen was first approved in 2004 in the UK and Indonesia ( Agrow No 440, p 20).
