Endura/Rothamsted/NSWDPI deal on PBO commercialisation

Italian agrochemical company Endura (Bologna) has entered into a technology commercialisation deal with the UK-based research centre, Rothamsted Research (Harpenden, Hertfordshire), and the Australian New South Wales Department of Primary Industries (NSWDPI). Endura will help commercialise technology developed by researchers from Rothamsted and NWSDPI involving delayed release of insecticides through micro-encapsulation. The technology would make it possible to spray insecticides along with the synergist, piperonyl butoxide (PBO), which helps overcome pesticide resistance in insects by inhibiting the esterase enzymes that act as insecticide detoxification pathways in insects.
