Bayer and Monsanto agree GM canola deal

Bayer CropScience and Monsanto are to cross-license their genetically modified herbicide-tolerance traits in canola (oilseed rape) on a non-exclusive basis. Monsanto will grant Bayer worldwide access to its GM glyphosate-tolerant Genuity Roundup Ready trait in oilseed rape. Genuity is the new brand name for the company’s GM crop range ( Agrow No 563, p 2). In exchange, Bayer will grant Monsanto rights to its GM glufosinate-tolerant LibertyLink traits.
