Brazil issues agbiotech glossary
Brazil has published a glossary on agricultural biotechnology. Scientists from the Ministry of Science’s national technical commission for biosafety, the CTNBio, collaborated on the work. It presents the main “rigorously scientific, clear and objective” information in the field, promoting correct use of the technology, the Ministry says. The glossary should help to make clear the importance of agricultural biotechnology to the general public, the Minister, Sergio Razende, says. Brazil is the world’s third-largest grower of GM crops and has been expanding its product range in the past two years ( Agrow passim).
