EPA lobbied over tebuconazole

Regulatory officials and growers from the US state of North Dakota are lobbying the EPA to approve Bayer CropScience's fungicide, Folicur (tebuconazole), for use on wheat and barley this year. The fungicide has been used under emergency exemptions for the control of Fusarium head blight (Fusarium graminearum) for the past 11 years. However, a further exemption is considered unlikely in view of last year's approval of Bayer's fungicide, Proline (prothioconazole), for the same use (Agrow No 517, p 23).
