More ais approach EU Annex I

Six new active ingredients and two existing ais are close to gaining full EU approval, following a positive vote by the EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health (SCFCAH) in January. The Committee agreed by a qualified majority on inclusion in Annex I of the EU agrochemical registration Directive (91/414) for: Kumiai Chemical's fungicide, benthiavalicarb; BASF's fungicide, boscalid; Luxan's sprout inhibitor, carvone; Bayer CropScience's fungicides, fluoxastrobin and prothioconazole; and German company Prophyta's bionematicide, Paecilomyces lilacinus. The two existing ais are the herbicides, amidosulfuron and nicosulfuron.
