New Argentine soya area record
The Argentine soybean area for the 2007/08 is to set a record for the second consecutive year, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Sagpya, says. The area is predicted to be up by 2.8% to 16.6 million ha. A lack of rain in some areas has led to delayed planting. Nevertheless, expectations are -intact", with some 94% of the intended area already planted by late January's study. At the same time last year, some 97% had been sown.
