DuPont in sorghum pact

DuPont has acquired exclusive commercialisation rights to two herbicide tolerance traits in conventional sorghum from the US Kansas University Research Foundation. The deal should allow the production of sorghum with tolerance to herbicides that act as acetolactate synthase (ALS) or acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase) inhibitors. DuPont will sub-license the technology to seed companies, which are expected to produce the first ALS and ACCase herbicide-tolerant lines in "three to four years", the company told Agrow.
