Colombian agchem industry is competitive
The rise in agrochemical prices in Colombia is due to international market conditions and is not the result of an abuse of the dominant position of suppliers, a Ministry of Agriculture commissioned study has found. That was the most significant finding from the -unprecedented" survey. The Ministry authorised it in response to concerns on competition and prices in the sector, according to the association of Colombian businesses, the ANDI. There is, "in general", a wide range of pesticides for integrated crop management in the country, the study finds.
