EU Ministers decide on final review ais
EU Agriculture Ministers have adopted proposals to re-register the fungicide, tetraconazole, subject to certain use conditions. They have also agreed to an extended phase-out of the fumigant, metam. The decisions on the active ingredients were referred to the Ministers after the EU regulatory committee failed to accept or reject the European Commission's proposals ( Agrow No 569, p 10). The ais are among the last ones to complete the EU review of existing ais. The agreements require formal adoption by the Commission before coming into force.
