Brazil to debate GM maize
Applications for the commercial approval of genetically modified maize in Brazil are due to be addressed at a public meeting next month. Petitions from Bayer CropScience, Monsanto, Syngenta, Dow AgroSciences and others are due to be discussed. The national technical commission for biosafety, the CTNBio, has called the meeting for March 20th at the national congress. The public will be able to contribute scientifically-based opinions and knowledge on the safety of GM maize.
