BASF expands products in Asia

BASF is lining up new products for the growing agrochemical markets of India and China, with a focus on the high-value fruit and vegetable sector. The fungicide, boscalid, was approved in China at the end of 2006 (Agrow No 511, p 18) and will be sold on fruit and vegetables, as Kai Tse. Boscalid was launched in Japan and South Korea last year. Another fungicide due to be introduced in China is Cabrio Top (pyraclostrobin + metiram). Pyraclostrobin-based fungicides are also scheduled for launch in India in the coming months. The active ingredient received its first Japanese approval in late 2006 (Agrow No 509, p 22).
