Brazil agrochemical price fall slows
Brazil's pesticide prices continued to fall in the second half of 2006 after significant drops in the first half. They fell by 7-10% in the last six months of 2006 and by 9-13% for the whole of the year, the Brazilian agricultural supplies ministry, the Conab, says. Insecticide prices fell by 10.4% on average in the six months to January 2007, while prices of the category were down by 12.6% against the same time last year. Herbicides were the next largest faller. Prices for the six months to January were 8.2% lower and fell by 11% in the year to January. Fungicides experienced smaller declines. Prices fell by 7.2% from July last year to January and by 9% in 2006.
