BASF bullish on Brazil
BASF labels Brazil's agricultural future as "absolutely positive". Brazil leads the way in major crops and has a growing role in the biofuel industry, BASF agricultural products president, Michael Heinz, says. "The initial signs of recovery in the present harvest and the medium-term expectations are very good for Brazil's farmers," he adds. The company is to launch products for the cotton and horticulture markets, Latin America vice-president of agricultural products Walter Dissinger says. Brazil will become the "great world food source" and BASF intends to develop new products to improve it, he adds.
