Morocco to study agrochemical controls

Morocco needs stronger controls on pesticide residues in food and plant products intended for EU export, says the European Commission's Food and Veterinary Office (FVO). It also notes that there are no legally binding, only provisional, maximum residue limits in Morocco. An FVO inspection last year concluded that Morocco should: broaden its laboratories' analytical scope to improve monitoring; systematically follow up all EU residue notifications concerning the country's plant produce; and improve residue controls for mint, which has been the subject of recent EU notifications.
