Monsanto/Chromatin trait stack pact
Monsanto has entered into a research collaboration with the US biotechnology company, Chromatin (Chicago, Illinois), on gene stacking technology. The agreement gives Monsanto non-exclusive access to Chromatin's "mini-chromosome" technology in maize, soybeans, cotton and canola. Chromatin retains the right to broadly license the technology so that other companies and third parties can use it. Monsanto and Chromatin will conduct a three-year research programme, which may be extended if necessary to complete it.
