US EUP for Arkema's fumigant
The US EPA has granted an experimental use permit (EUP) to the French chemical company, Arkema, to test its soil fumigant, Paladin (dimethyl disulfide). The EUP will enable Arkema's distributor, United Phosphorus, to provide Paladin to selected growers on 200 acres (81 ha) in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina, Arkema points out. The EUP application covered 500 acres (Agrow No 516, p 18). The EPA has scheduled a registration decision for dimethyl disulfide in fiscal 2008.
