US EPA faces new ESA (Endangered Species Act) suit
The US environmentalist group, the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD), has filed another lawsuit against the EPA over its alleged violation of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) regarding pesticide registrations. The group accuses the Agency of failing to consult the Fish and Wildlife Service over the potential impacts of 46 pesticides on 11 endangered species in the San Francisco Bay area. The listed species include aquatic organisms, insects and mammals. The lawsuit was filed in late May in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
