Argentina OKs GM (genetically modified) maize trade

Argentina is to allow the sale of genetically modified glyphosate-tolerant GA21 maize for domestic and foreign markets that have no restrictions on the maize. The move comes after Argentina banned the GM line along with Syngenta's insect-resistant Bt176 maize earlier this year under Resolution 125 (Agrow No 521, p 15). "Without derogating Resolution 125 ... the possibility of marketing GA21 maize remains open so long as traceability requirements are implemented," the Ministry of Agriculture, the Sagpya, says.
