EPA seeks ESA consultations

The US EPA has requested formal consultations with the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) to address the potential effects of ten pesticides on California red-legged frogs. The Agency has made the requests following determinations that the pesticides are "likely to adversely affect" the endangered amphibians. The EPA agreed to make the determinations under a legal settlement with the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) over alleged violations of the Endangered Species Act (Agrow No 507, p 13).
